Working Vocabulary Page

A List of Vocabulary Words:

This list was designed to act as a reference guide to help people augment their working
vocabularies.  Many of the words that I selected are words that are commonly used on the
SAT and GRE verbal tests.  Because the testing bureaus that create these tests strive to
choose words that are pervasive in the contemporary, academic literature, these words should
be appropriate for a person of any background.

The definitions that I created attempt to sum up each term’s meaning as concisely as
possible.  Also I looked up every term in a thesaurus and I included, within the definitions, only
those synonyms that are very near in meaning to the words that they help define.
